I'm Ready to Get Certified! >>
At IDC, our mission is to help you create a successful and fulfilling career, making a difference for yourself and others.
Productions are looking for experts with proven skills, strong ethics, and the confidence to lead in high-stakes creative environments. Are you ready to be that person?
I'm Ready >>

If you’re like so many of the intimacy professionals we’ve worked with, you feel called to intimacy work because you’ve seen (and likely lived) the harm that happens when it’s missing.
Maybe you’ve been on a set or in a rehearsal room where boundaries weren’t respected.
Maybe you’ve been asked to do something that made your stomach drop, and said “yes” because you were afraid of losing the job or being blacklisted.
Maybe you’ve watched others pushed past their limits, knowing deep down that it shouldn’t be this way.
And now… you want to be part of making it better.
You want to be the person who creates safety, champions consent, and protects the artistry of intimate storytelling.
But there’s a voice in your head saying:
“What if I can’t get work?”
“What if the timing’s not right?”
“What if I am not good enough?”
The truth? There will never be a “perfect moment” to step into this work.
And in the meantime, the industry continues — with or without your voice in the room.
It's time to decide how you want to make a difference in the entertainment industry.
Imagine this instead...
You’re known in your community (and across the industry!) as the intimacy professional people call when they want the job done right.
You walk into a room and know exactly how to advocate for actors while collaborating seamlessly with directors and producers.

You’re working on productions you admire, telling powerful, vulnerable stories, and you’re praised not just for your skill, but for the trust you create.
Your calendar is full.
Your reputation is strong.
And every project you take on leaves the industry a little better than you found it.
This is Exactly What’s Possible When You Choose to Become a Certified Intimacy Professional.
Intimacy work isn’t just a passing trend; it’s now an essential part of the entertainment industry.
In 2016, the role of the intimacy professional barely existed. Today, it’s a near requirement on all SAG-AFTRA TV/Film sets and a standard presence on Broadway stages.
And the need is only increasing.
This is the fastest-growing career in entertainment. Productions are actively searching for people with the skills, integrity, and confidence to lead... and they’re making space in the budget to pay for it.
When you’ve developed deep expertise in the protocols, honed your choreography skills, and built a track record of collaboration, you don’t just find work — you become sought after.
It’s rare to find a career like this, where your talent, values, and livelihood come together.
But, becoming an intimacy professional can be as rewarding for you as it is for the productions and people you serve.Â
You get to be the reason actors feel safe.
The reason directors trust the process.
The reason producers know their most vulnerable scenes are in the best possible hands.
And, you get to be paid to do it.Â

See What People Are Saying About Certifying with IDC...

The Investment is Worth It!
"As a dancer/choreographer of musical theatre who works in academia, [IDC] has truly transformed the way that I interact and approach students about the work. [Intimacy work] is enlightening, refreshing and empowering, especially working at a historically women's college. The investment is worth it. Ask your administrators for funding!"

I Can't Imagine Pursuing this Work Without IDC
"Those in hiring positions value and respect what it means to be an IDC-Certified Intimacy Professional... Since beginning training with IDC, I've become the Resident Intimacy Director at my university... I've worked continuously in film, TV, theatre, and opera as an intimacy coordinator and director. I can't imagine pursuing this work without the training and support I've received from IDC."

Greatest Learning Experience of My Life
"I cannot imagine trying to do this job without this training. [IDC] helped me understand more of the film process and what protocols should be followed in intimate scenes. It was invaluable and gave me connections that better both my work as an intimacy coordinator and as a human. This was the greatest learning experience of my life."
