What is an Intimacy Professional (Intimacy Director/Intimacy Coordinator)?
An intimacy professional is a choreographer, an advocate for actors, and a liaison between actors and production for scenes that involve nudity/hyper-exposed work, simulated sex acts, and intimate physical contact.
Intimacy Director or Choreographer is the designation typically used for theatre and live performance. Intimacy Coordinator is the correct title for this role for TV and Film.
How do I become a CERTIFIED Intimacy Professional?
To become a certified Intimacy Professional, you'll need to complete the Intimacy Professional Accelerator Program. Upon completion, you will have the opportunity to apply to our Certification program, hosted annually at our highly anticipated summit event. This immersive in-person experience is designed to equip you with the skills, knowledge, and industry insights essential for excelling in the field of intimacy direction and coordination.
I don’t live in the United States, can I be certified by IDC?
Absolutely! We have re-designed our certification program to increase accessibility to this training! The first step to certification is now fully online and self paced: The Intimacy Professional Accelerator Program. With the ability to take the course at any time, time zones are no longer a barrier to learning! This pivot provides flexibility for participants from around the globe to access the skills and tools needed to become ethical intimacy professionals.
Once participants have completed the Accelerator Program, they will be eligible to apply to the Certification Program. This portion takes place in-person at our annual summit event. This intensive 6-day training is designed to give professionals the professional skills needed to create a career as an intimacy professional. Learn more about our Certification Program here.

I've been training with another organization for a while. How do I fit in at IDC?
At this time we do not accept training from any other organization towards our certification program. All participants will need to begin with IDC’s Intimacy Professional Accelerator Program. This allows all students to develop the same vocabulary and ensures instructors are able to deliver accurate information that meets the needs of the participants.
If you have taken Level 1 or Level 2 with IDC and are interested in more advanced training, we have made it possible to apply 100% of your previous tuition towards this new program!
What is your refund policy for the Intimacy Professional Accelerator Program?
We stand behind the quality and effectiveness of our course. Within a full year of enrollment, if you complete the program and find yourself unsatisfied, simply show us that you've done the work and we will refund your investment. Your satisfaction is our priority, and we are committed to ensuring your investment in our course is risk-free. Does IDC provide scholarships?
IDC is proud to offer scholarships for all of our programming.
To qualify for ascholarship, you must self-identify as Black, Indigenous, an Artist of Color (BIPOC) and/or Transgender. This scholarship program is available to all BIPOC and/or Transgender artists, regardless of their financial status.

What is your Installment Plan policy?
