About the Scholarship Program

What is the Purpose of IDC's Scholarship Program? 

The IDC Scholarship Program was created to both honor the roots of intimacy work and to expand access to this vital field. Intimacy work exists because of the courageous advocacy of women like Tarana Burke, who has dedicated her life to uplifting those who could not advocate for themselves. In that spirit, our program seeks to carry forward this legacy of advocacy and care.

The purpose of the IDC Scholarship Program is two-fold:

1. To increase accessibility – ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent passionate artists and aspiring intimacy professionals from entering this work.

2. To honor advocacy – supporting artists who are committed to championing marginalized voices, especially those whose stories are too often overlooked or forgotten.

Through this program, IDC invests in the next generation of intimacy professionals who embody both artistic excellence and a deep commitment to equity, representation, and care.

What are the Details for the IDC Scholarship Program? 

• Award Amount: $1,500 United States Dollar (USD) scholarship

  • May be applied once to either the Accelerator Program OR the Certification Program.
    
    

• Eligibility:

  • Any artist committed to using their training to uplift marginalized voices that are often forgotten within the field of intimacy work.
    
    
• Additional Details:

  • Each applicant may receive the IDC Scholarship once in their lifetime.

  • If you have already used a scholarship for the Accelerator Program, you are not eligible to receive another scholarship from IDC.

  • Scholarships cannot be applied retroactively to previous purchases.

How Many Scholarships Do You Offer?

ALL scholarship applicants who apply for the IDC Scholarship within the two week application cycle will be awarded the scholarship!

How Often Do You Offer the IDC Scholarship?

IDC holds a maximum of two (2) scholarship application cycles in one calendar year. The dates are announced to individuals on our notification and mailing lists. 

We typically open applications in the Winter and Summer months. Once applications open, applicants have two weeks to apply and redeem their scholarship.

How Do I Submit for a Scholarship? 

When the scholarship submission cycles open, you will be asked to submit a form with the following:

• Full Name
• Email Address
• Answer to one (1) short question around your commitment to advocating for often forgotten and marginalized voices. (This question is limited to no more than 250 words.)  

Once you submit this form you will receive an email with links to apply the scholarship to your preferred payment option! This link will take you to the checkout page and automatically apply your scholarship discount. It's as simple as that!

Our scholarship cycle lasts for TWO (2) WEEKS. You must apply for AND use your scholarship discount link by the scholarship submission deadline - otherwise, the issued scholarship discount link will expire. There will be no exceptions or extensions.

NOTE: If you have already received a scholarship for the Accelerator Program, you are NOT eligible for IDC’s Scholarship Program. Scholarships CAN NOT be applied retroactively to previous purchases.
